PREFACE: I read the articles about this topic that rank ahead on Google and found most of them deliberately mix up two different things. They recommend their Blu-ray player software for playing 4K Blu-ray on PC, but actually, they can’t play. The regular 4K movie video that comes from download sites or rips from the 4K Blu-ray disc is different from the 4K Blu-ray disc/folder/ISO. File playback is provided by open source libVLC, but Blu-ray playback is not. It is not that easy to play 4K Blu-ray on PC.
The 4K Blu-ray player software we are going to talk about can really play 4K UHD Blu-ray disc/folder/ISO on Windows computer. In addition to getting 4K Blu-ray player software, you will need a 4K Blu-ray drive, and your computer performance must be strong enough to play 4K UHD Blu-ray.
In the first part, we will talk about how to play 4K Blu-ray on PC by using a 4K Blu-ray player software – BlurayVid Blu-ray Player. You can download it first and follow the instructions. If fails to play 4K UHD Blu-ray on PC, or perhaps the playback process is not smooth enough, you could jump to the second part to check whether your computer meets the minimum system requirements.

How to Play 4K UHD Blu-ray on PC
Since you ordered some 4K Blu-ray discs, you must hope to have high-quality visual entertainments. BlurayVid Blu-ray Player is the world’s only choice that can legally play 4K Blu-ray disc/4K Blu-ray folder/4K Blu-ray ISO with original bitrate. It completely supports HDR (high dynamic range). All the 4K Blu-ray discs include HDR information.
With the TrueTheater color, lighting & HDR for 4K video, the picture of the Blu-ray movie looks remarkable: crisp-edged, well-lit, amazing detail. Don’t forget the audio quality. 4K Blu-ray Player supports cinema-quality surround sound like Dolby Digital (5.1 ch), Dolby Digital Plus (7.1 ch), and Dolby TrueHD (7.1 ch).
Step 1. Connect the 4K Blu-ray Drive with Your PC
If you want to play UHD Blu-ray disc, connect your 4K Blu-ray drive with your computer, and then insert the 4K Blu-ray disc. Please note that 4K Blu-ray drive is backward compatibility with the normal 1080P Blu-ray, but not vice-versa. That means you definitely need a 4K Blu-ray drive.
Step 2. Start to Play 4K Blu-ray Disc/Folder/ISO
Launch the player, click the disc icon on the main interface to read the 4K UHD Blu-ray disc.
If you want to play 4K Blu-ray folder (BDMV) or 4K Blu-ray ISO, locate the file in “My Computer” and play it.
Step 3. Turn On Video Enhancements and Enjoy
Turn “Video Enhancements” on. The 4K Blu-ray player will automatically apply enhancements to the video with its smart algorithm. Now you can enjoy the high-quality 4K Blu-ray on PC.
For me, BlurayVid Blu-ray Player is not just a Blu-ray & DVD player. I always use this application to open the video files on my computer. Video display in this application is much vivid than in other media players.
